Three sons were born to Mr and Mrs Lincoln here, one of whom died in childhood. The lady who opened the door for us is a niece of Mrs Lincoln. Her mother was a sister of the latter. Many articles of furniture and bric-a-brac belonged to the Lincolns, this quite a lot of the furnishings belonged to Mrs Lincolns side of the family and of course to the lady who lives there. I especially remember the big old fashioned mahogany, hair cloth corned settee where Abraham courted Mrs Lincoln.
