Just a little beyond the Dam we drove a mile off the main road to the beginning of a trail up - up - up - to a number of cliff dwellings. At first we thought we could make the grade. The men didn't care a heap whether or not they did, but I was so anxious to reach them. Only a few steps convinced me it was a perfectly useless effort, so back to the car we trudged and tried to satisfy our curiosity by looking upward. The topmost ones are almost inaccessible.
